My SFFG Story – Dr. Emily B.

Now that the topic trending is #somekamoney, I am tempted to assess myself in regard to financial growth. When the Straight Forward Financial Growth (SFFG) book was launched in 2018 I naturally had to get a copy. I mean it was authored by my Pastor Mosze who has been a great and selfless leader, mentor, coach and guide. We have surely got the deal- where do you find a pastor who wears all these hats? I forgot to mention the leadership skills he gives us but that’s a story for another day.

I started reading the book immediately and could not put it down until I finished it. On top of that the generous Pastor Mosze decided to run free practical sessions for 8 weeks explaining the principles in the book. I started implementing the principles immediately. I had never known that wealth creation was one of my passions until this exposure. For some reason I was so interested in this stuff and so hooked. It was a perfect fit. To date SFFG is one of my favorite books. I have read it about 5 times.

Later on He gave us an opportunity to do the SFFG mastermind so that we would qualify as certified coaches and tutor people in these principles to change the financial story of 10,000 people and create billionaires in Uganda. It was natural for me to say Yes. It was a no brainer! In January 2019, I signed up for the 8 weeks’ mastermind course at a cost of 500,000/=. I got deeper coaching from the coach himself together with 7 others in my group. I got more exposure to the different financial documents – income streams analysis, net worth and cash flow etc. I then realized that I had not been saving to invest (paying myself first) so I knew this was one of the things I had to start doing immediately. The only consolation for me was that for about 10 years I had been putting up rentals (saving unintentionally) – this could only have been God. Phewx!! At least I had an investment worth about 500 million Ugx. I was clueless about this, which was definitely a pleasant surprise; I had been saving through investment unknowingly. This was good because my net worth was acceptable for my age. Yes, He also exposed us to the net worth calculator formula which is computed using the age and annual income. I now needed to focus on increasing the number of income streams because we learnt that rich people have a minimum of 7 and yet I had 3 at the time. Not a bad start but applied knowledge is power so I decided to apply the principles I learnt. I became more conscious about increasing the number of income streams. My target this year is to have 20 income streams and I am pushing myself to get there before the year closes. I managed to start 3 businesses this year and one of the exciting ones was becoming part of the ‘Future Housing and spaces’ which is a group investment led by Mosze and Ary Mukisa, which he also talks about it in the book. From the time I read about it I knew I had to be part of it and it is a dream come true that I am finally in this group of like-minded people. The money I used to join was from my savings of 2019 and part of 2020. Yes, I now save 20% and it enabled me to join this venture in May 2020. I have an inclination to real estate which I believe was a dream from God accelerated when I read ‘Rich dad poor dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki in 2008. The money I saved in 2018 was invested in a money lending business I became part of when I joined a friend who is a pro at this game. This year I focused on increasing my net worth by completing 2 rentals during the lockdown. One is now occupied and I have a total of 6 rentals from 4 when I was introduced to SFFG.

I must say I am grateful for the book and coaching sessions we have had. Not too long ago we were assigned master coaches to guide us through the coaching process. My master coach Angela is awesome and always willing to help and support me. We have had SFFG coaches’ training sessions which motivated me to start my Facebook live presentations on 31/7/2020 in order to increase my influence. We were also encouraged to offer a free coaching session about the principles of wealth creation which I did on 21/08/2020. It was exciting and launched me into the live coaching space. I look forward to putting my skills to use and coaching people in the principles of wealth creation and Co-authoring a book on the same. One of my pains is economic injustice, a term I came across last month and am still doing research on this. As I assess myself, I am grateful for the SFFG coaching space my pastor has provided for us. I think I will hit my target for the year of 20-20-20 i.e. 20% growth in savings, 20% growth in investments and 20% growth in net worth- I hope to be a billionaire by December 2020. I look forward to walking the journey of wealth creation and changing 1000 peoples’ financial story. I am excited about what the future holds; the sky is the limit! I have a billionaire (in dollars) mind!!! Thank you SFFG!!
